Students are always sitting in classes that are important to the career choices they are getting into. What is also important is ensuring that they have a foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Lake Area spans over 40 acres allowing students to have ample amounts of walking ground.


With the movement, #latcwanderwalksforwellness; students are able to participate in self-guided walks throughout campus or the Watertown Community. Watertown, SD is home to multiple miles of trails that you can access from nearly anywhere in town. Students and staff alike can take time out of their days, during there lunches, or before or after classes to get in some R & R on the trail system that is well maintained int he community.


We are passionate about serving our healthy lifestyles from now to the future. To get involved, take time out of your day to walk! Whether it is 250 steps or 15 miles, anything counts.
